THE PREVIEW: Billericay Town are still looking for their first win of 2016, after they drew 1-1 with Grays Athletic on Tuesday.

Following several postponements, Billericay have struggled to refind the form that saw them climb into the play-offs at the end of last year, and they will be looking to exact some measure of revenge when they take on Staines tomorrow.

The Londoners won a dramatic game 3-2 at New Lodge in October, as Pat Cox scored a hat-trick, including a 90th minute winner, to Billericay’s dismay.

However, Staines have flattered to deceive for much of this term, as they sit in 19th and a long way off the play-off places.

Staines’ wretched recent form has seen them lose 10 of the last 11 league games, and Billericay will want to add to their misery tomorrow.

WHAT HE SAYS: Town manager Craig Edwards said: “A few of the team are struggling with flu, including me, and I just don’t want it to spread to the rest of the squad. Ironically, I caught it from the physio!

“Games like the Staines one worry me the most as they are on a bad run, but we haven’t had the best start to the year either. The enforced break, because of the weather, hurt us and we need to get back on our game quickly.

“I don’t think we are far away, but we do need to be more clinical in front of goal and that has been the story of our season.

“You look at teams like Dulwich and East Thurrock and they are scoring for fun.

“But Staines have a good pitch and we will do our best to get the result.”
