Great Wakering Rovers 1-1 Haringey Borough
From Burroughs Park
Ryman One North
GREAT Wakering Rovers ended their season with a point at home against Haringey Borough.
Lewis Sparrow grabbed the equaliser after Wakering had gone into half time in arrears with the Essex side ending the campaign unbeaten in four home matches.
Haringey were Wakering’s bogey side in a game of the last two Essex Senior League champions, but Gary Ansell was hoping to capitalise on recent good home form against the Londoners.
The opener came on 36 minutes when Dan Aristodou beat the dive of Adam Seal, albeit it was a goal against the run of play with Wakering creating a number of promising first half openings.
But 10 minutes into the second period it was all square when Sparrow scored for the first time since returning from injury.
Following a host of missed chances from Haringey, Sparrow expertly finished from an inswinging corner to level the match and secure a share of the spoils
Great Wakering: Seal, Pugsley (Sands), Worrell, Hilder, Sparrow (Barlow), Vaughan, Johnson, Bradley, Gordon, Nash (Gilchrist), Cleaver
