Concord Rangers 0-1 Havant & Waterlooville
From the Aspect Arena
National League South
CONCORD Rangers ended their home campaign in disappointing fashion as Havant & Waterlooville boosted their survival hopes with a 1-0 win.
Havant were in desperate need for the three points as they bid to secure their National League South status, while the Beach Boys were keen to put on a show on what was their annual charity day.
But it was the visitors that made the early breakthrough. Shamir Mullins sent in a fine cross that was picked up by Ben Swallow and he hammered past Ben McNamara.
George Barker tested McNamara next, with the visitors finding the net once again only for the offside flag to curtail celebrations.
Joao Carlos and Ben Greenhalgh had half chances as Concord tried to make their mark on the match.
But Havant were proving a tough nut to crack as Concord continued to pile on the pressure, with Lewis Taaffe coming close but his shot cleared the crossbar.
Concord Rangers: McNamara, Dowie, Stephen, Hammond, Lampe (Topley), Cornhill, Taaffe, Collins, Greenhalgh, Cawley, Carlos (King)
