OPPOSITION FOCUS: Tonbridge Angels will be hoping to end a wretched record against Essex sides when they visit the county this evening.

Angels have won just one of their eight games against sides from Essex and Thurrock, taking a mere eight points from an available 24.

The Kent outfit lost both matches against Rocks, and failed to beat Billericay Town and Grays Athletic this season as well although they will be looking to end that run tonight.

And Angels manager Steve McKimm is viewing the game as a “bonus” having never expected to finish in the top five.

"We're as ready as we can be," McKimm told the Kent and Sussex Courier. "It's an extra bonus. An extra game. It's something we're all looking forward to. It's something we never expected to get.

"If we can win them, all well and good. Obviously that's what our aim is, the same as East Thurrock, Burgess Hill and Dulwich Hamlet. It's one last chance to push on.

"But this is a bonus in our eyes. It's something we never expected and we'll go with that attitude.

"All season we've gone into games only wanting to win. There are no points on the table. No revenge in the return game. This is winner takes all."
