l RUNDOWN: A trip to Thurrock in the FA Trophy promises to be a real test of how far Rob Small’s Bowers & Pitsea have come this season.

Bowers have excelled so far this season and have accrued five more points than perennial title challengers Thurrock so far in the league.

However, Bowers have won just one of their last five league matches and will be keen for another victory to keep up their strong start.

Thurrock have failed to find any sort of consistency so far, and have just one win in their last six league games, most recently losing to Cheshunt on Tuesday.

l MANAGER’S VIEW: Bowers manager Rob Small said: “It is my first taste of the FA Trophy as a player or manager so I am excited.

"It is a lovely draw for us as there is no expectation, we are playing a proper team and have nothing to lose. The pressure will be on Thurrock to win but we will give it a go - we won't win it or make the semi-finals so it will be fun!

"The performances of late haven't reached the levels we want so it is only fair we freshen things up."

l TEAM NEWS: A trio of former Fleet players could turn out against their former side, with Brad Warner potentially fit enough to play, Lewis Clark also in line to make his debut and former captain Aaron Waters in the team.

Jamie Salmon and Vinny Durrant are out, Bobby Mason will return in goal.
