SOUTHEND Manor will be looking to stretch their unbeaten run in the Essex Senior League to seven matches when they visit Barkingside tomorrow.

Stuart Marshall has turned around the fortunes of Manor and they have been excellent in recent weeks, winning their last four games.

A win at Clapton last time out signalled to the rest of the league that Manor are a force to be reckoned with.

And Marshall wants more of the same tomorrow.

“We are really confident but it is going to be a tough game,” he said. “Barkingside have started the season well and we are going to have to be at our best.

“In terms of the squad, we are a week away from welcoming Lee Rome back and Robbie Norris is suspended for a game.”

Hullbridge Sports host Clapton looking to close the gap on leaders Barking, having dropped off in recent times.

Second-placed Sports have won just once in their last seven league matches but, due to the amount of games they have played, still occupy a lofty league position.

Manager Rob Hodgson is aware tomorrow is a tough ask but has backed his players to keep fighting after a valiant draw against Ilford on Tuesday night.

Sports have no new injury concersn ahead of tomorrow’s game.

Basildon United are another who have struggled for consistency but their 6-1 win against Enfield 1893 on Tuesday will have put them in a positive frame of mind ahead of a trip to Stansted.

The Bees sit fifth in the standings with Stansted currently in 11th.

They didn’t struggle for goals in midweek although they will be without key striker Ayoola Odedoyin, who remains sidelined.
