BILLERICAY Town boss Craig Edwards is keen to see a collective improvement when his new look team travel to Worthing tomorrow.

Edwards has bolstered his options with several signings following the arrival of new club chairman Glenn Tamplin.

And, while Edwards knows it will take time to get things right, he is hoping for more unity this weekend.

“We had our first training session together last night so that will help and I want to see at least a 10 per cent improvement as a team when we go to Worthing,” said Edwards.

“We have some very talented individuals but it’s going to take time for everyone to start gelling together.

“I want to see it getting 10 per cent better in every game we play and that’s the target I’m setting.

“We’ve shown in the past that once we hit form then we’re more than capable of getting on a really good run and that’s what we’re aiming for again.”

But Billericay have now gone five games without a win and were beaten 3-2 at home to AFC Sudbury on Tuesday night.

The poor run has seen them slip down to 10th in the Ryman Premier League table.

And, as they bid to get back on track this weekend, they must also get to grips with Worthing’s 3G pitch.

“Teams who play on 3G at home tend to have an advantage on it but we’ve done OK on it already this season and will look to do so again,” said Edwards.

“Worthing have been quite inconsistent but they are dangerous on their day.”

Worthing sit 16th in the table while Billericay new boy Matt Johnson will face a late fitness test on a knee problem before Saturday’s game.
