SOUTHEND Manor could go top of the Essex Senior League if they beat London Bari and results elsewhere go in their favour.

Manor are currently two points behind league leaders Clapton, while they are one point adrift of Barking, who have five games in hand over Stuart Marshall’s side.

A 1-0 win over Wadham Lodge last weekend has taken Manor’s unbeaten run to four Essex Senior League games, and the promotion hopefuls have kept their 100 per cent winning record in 2017 intact.

Basildon United, meanwhile, face a tough trip to Takeley.

Aaron Bloxham’s side go into the game having seen their Essex Senior Cup run come to an end.

Basildon, who had already knocked the likes of Great Wakering Rovers and Canvey Island out of the competition, were defeated 2-0 at Heybridge Swifts to miss out on making the last four of the Essex Senior Cup.

The Bees will now turn their attentions back to the league campaign, and a win over Takeley would put them on the cusp of the play-off places.

Hullbridge Sports will be looking to enhance their play-off ambitions when they make the trip to Waltham Forest.

Rob Hodgson’s side, who will travel to Tower Hamlets for a cup clash next week, are currently seventh in the Essex Senior League standings.

Hullbridge, who drew 2-2 with Barkingside in their last league game, will be confident of picking up three points against mid-table Waltham Forest.
