CONCORD Rangers manager Adam Flanagan has urged his team to seize ‘a fresh opportunity’ and correct their poor form against Truro City.

The Beach Boys have lost all three previous meetings against the Cornwall outfit although rarely has a match been as significant as tomorrow’s encounter.

Truro lie three points above the National League South relegation places while Concord moved five points clear following victory last weekend.

And Flanagan has encouraged his team to embrace the challenge ahead.

“Our record against Truro hasn’t been great but those matches are in the past now and tomorrow gives us a new fresh opportunity to try and change things from a negative to a positive,” he said.

“I have always been confident we had enough quality to more ourselves away from where we are in the league and I would like to think that this will continue until now for the remainder of the season.

“It is an important game for both teams,” he added.

“If Truro win then they climb above us and if we win we push further away from them and break the 30 point barrier.

“For me this season we have earned points from games when we have worked together out on the pitch for 90 minutes.

“Recent games has shown this and we now need to delivery this type of performance in every match, every week.”

Concord have won their last two matches at home but have found it more difficult on the road in recent weeks - with just one point from the last 12 on offer in the league.

Concord will be making the 310 mile trip to Truro on the day of the match, and will be hoping to avoid any road delays with the journey expected to take almost six hours.

But the Beach Boys manager said he was not concerned about that, with Truro faced with that difficulty on a much more regular basis.

“We will be travelling on the day so it will be a tough journey but only what Truro have to do every week.”
