BILLERICAY Town survived a late comeback from South Park to book their place in the Ryman League Cup final.

Town scored four first half goals and led 4-1 at the interval against the side who play in the Ryman South.

But South Park never gave in and pushed Billericay to the final whistle, although they did hold on in the end to win 4-3.

Billericay took the lead after just two minutes. Billy Bricknell was again the man on target after some good work from Joe Ellul.

Matt Johnson struck home a second from the edge of the penalty area before Lewis Taaffe scored a third, following fine build-up play from Tambeson Eyong down the right.

South Park pulled a goal back but Adam Cunnington restored the three goal lead before the interval.

But a red card for Ellul changed the course of the game. South Park scored from the following free-kick and when the lead was cut to one with 25 minutes remaining the away side were on top.

Billericay will play either Dulwich Hamlet or Tonbridge Angels in the final.

In the National League South, East Thurrock left it late to get the better of bottom side Margate.

Lee Burns scored the only goal three minutes from time to make it 16 straight defeats for the Kent side.

Rocks were dominant throughout the encounter but were left frustrated after a combination of good defending and fine goalkeeping kept the scores level.

But Burns had the last laugh to make it back-to-back wins.
