Hungerford 2–1 Concord Rangers

(Boardman 52’, Brown 83’: Nasha 31’)

From Bulpit Lane

National League South

ADAM Flanagan saw red as Concord Rangers were beaten late on at on-form Hungerford Town.

The Beach Boys chief was sent to the stands by the referee in the second period, as the home side came from a goal down to earn the win.

Concord knew they were in for a tough afternoon, with Hungerford excelling in their first season at this level.

But they began brightly, with Lyle Della-Verde bringing a save from the home goalkeeper.

Dion Sembie-Ferris struck over next for Concord but Hungerford were growing into the match, with Rhys Tyler and Luke Williams off target.

However, there was little incident, although Adam Flanagan’s men were to take the initiative on 30 minutes.

The ball dropped to Amos Nasha from 12 yards and the former Dover midfielder stroked the ball into the far corner.

Warren Bentley forced the first save from Bailey Vose shortly afterwards, with the on-loan Brighton & Hove Albion man getting down well to preserve the lead.

But seven minutes into the second-half it was all square.

A well-worked free-kick saw the ball reach Jon Boardman and he had the easy task of tapping home.

Flanagan was sent off with 30 minutes remaining and Hungerford were to push on.

With seven minutes to go, Stefan Brown powered a header past Vose and into the corner to make sure of the result.

Concord return to action at Wealdstone tonight.
