RUNDOWN: East Thurrock United travel to Weston-super-Mare with the pressure off, but will be hoping to surpass the 50 point mark with another win.

Rocks head into the game off the back of a narrow defeat to play-off hopefuls Chelmsford City.

John Coventry’s side will come face-to-face with the Clarets again on Tuesday when they challenge for silverware in the Essex Senior Cup final.

But East Thurrock will be looking to go into that game full of confidence and there would be no better way than by claiming all three points at Weston-super-Mare.

The hosts have lost their last three games 2-1 and are without a win in five National League South games.

Weston-super-Mare will start the game 15 points adrift of Rocks, and so they will be looking to pick up a much-needed three points to improve their chances of avoiding the drop.

MANAGER’S VIEW: Rocks boss John Coventry said: “It is an opportunity for us to relax and go and enjoy the game.

“We have reached the amount of points we needed to know that we are safe.

“It is also a good chance for the players to prove to me that they deserve to be in my side for the Essex Senior Cup final on Tuesday.

“There are teams below us, including Weston-super-Mare, that are still looking over their shoulders and so it is a big game for them.”

TEAM NEWS: Central defender Marvin Ekpiteta has a slight injury and is a doubt.

Other than Ekpiteta, John Coventry has a full squad to select from for the trip to Weston-super-Mare.
