CONCORD Rangers chairman Antony Smith has offered to refund supporters tickets after Saturday’s 5-0 humiliation at the hands of Bath City.

The heavy reverse has been described on social media as ‘embarrassing’ and ‘one of the worst performances I have seen in 35 years of watching football’.

The result leaves the Beach Boys in 17th place in the National League South, and still fighting to secure their place in the division with four games remaining.

And Smith, who was out of the country while the match was being played, says fans will be able to claim back their admission to the Bath game or watch Concord’s next home match - against Whitehawk on Bank Holiday Monday - free of charge.

“Following Saturday’s performance I will personally refund the tickets to any home supporters,” he said.

“They are welcome to visit the club for our next home game where they can either have free admission or their money back.”

Concord found themselves 4-0 down at half-time, with a late fifth added in the final five minutes.

After the game, manager Adam Flanagan described the result as a “massive step back” after a promising run of results at home.

Concord’s next match is a tough looking trip to league leaders Maidenhead United on Saturday afternoon.
