CONCORD Rangers scored a 90th minute equaliser to ensure they didn’t end the season with defeat in front of their own fans against Gosport Borough.

James White scored in the 92nd minute to salvage a point, and relegate Gosport in the process.

The Beach Boys had secured their league status on Monday with victory over Whitehawk, but still wanted a positive result as manager Adam Flanagan urged his team to end the season on a positive note.

There was nothing in the encounter in the first-half.

Gosport were in desperate need of points at the bottom of the division, and they were struggling to create against a resilient home defence.

Concord had the better of the first-half, and missed several good chances to go ahead.

Borough had survived what looked like a good penalty shout from Concord. Dion Sembie-Ferris raced through and it looked as though he was felled but it was dubbed a dive by the referee.

Goalless at half-time, Concord went ahead fortuitously 10 minutes after half-time.

Joe Oastler looped a fine Sam Collins cross beyond his own goalkeeper to make it 1-0.

But five minutes later it was all square. Disappointing defensive play allowed Tony Lee in and he placed a strike beyond Bailey Vose.

And the same man made it 2-1 10 minutes later- driving a strike in from range which crept past Vose.

It looked as though that was how it would stay but, two minutes into five minutes of injury-time, up popped White to slam through the keeper’s gloves and level.
