EAST Thurrock United manager John Coventry says he is wary over the threat of Whitehawk ahead of tonight’s match in Brighton.

The Hawks appointed Jimmy Dack as manager over the summer, and have signed a host of new players.

While Rocks drew their National League South opener against Hampton & Richmond Borough, Whitehawk were beaten 3-0 by Hemel Hempstead Town.

And Coventry is sure it will be a tough game.

“They lost a lot of players over the summer and I am not sure if they will be the same force as they were last season,” he said.

“They have new management and a new set-up so it will take time to get what the new manager wants.

“I read they worked very hard even though they were beaten and a hard-working team is hard to play against.

“It is the first home league game for them under him so it will be a difficult game for us, I am sure.”

The only Rocks injury concern is over Femi Akinwande, who has tweaked his medial ligament.
