CONCORD Rangers defender Billy Roast is determined to continue his and the team's early season form against Dartford tonight.

The centre-half linked up with the Beach Boys in the summer, following an impressive season at Maldon & Tiptree last term.

Roast is set to start his fourth match in a row when Concord make the short trip to Dartford in the National League South tonight, one of manager Adam Flanagan's former sides.

And he says he has been pleased with his early form in the yellow of Concord.

"I have been pleased with my opening three matches at the club," he said.

"We have had three tough fixtures against Wealdstone, Hemel Hempstead and Truro and I think we have done well in them all.

"I think I have settled in well too," added Roast.

"I am pleased with my personal performances, but more importantly the team is gelling as well."

A last-gasp Lewis Taaffe equaliser salvaged a draw against Truro on Saturday.

Dartford, one of the favourites for promotion this year, have drawn all three of their opening matches this campaign.

Matches between the two have been close over the past two seasons.

And Roast is expecting another close game, but has backed the team to do well.

"Every game is a big test and I think you need that mindset going into any game," he said.

"I don't know much about Dartford, only that a few mates have played there before.

"But the mood is very good in the team and we have got a close group which is very important for any club."
