After Saturday’s defeat against Kingstonian, I knew how important it was to get back to winning ways with a victory at Lowestoft Town.

We were 2-1 winners, and I am very pleased with what I saw from the team.

It was a good result and we showed good character and good commitment throughout the match.

Although I was disappointed with Saturday’s loss, I wasn’t concerned.

We had more than 25 shots and everyone that was at the game will know the result didn’t truly reflect the game.

I would add I didn’t pull my hair out in that game! My son and I always shave our heads in the summer, which explains this look.

And we were worthy of the points against Lowestoft as we were once again the attacking side.

Lowestoft parked the bus, even though they were the home side, but that is something we will have to get used to. But I was impressed as they were hard to break down.

At one point, I was concerned we wouldn’t get the winner, but we did with six minutes to go thanks to Louie Theophanous’ backheel.

But, once again and as I have alluded to previously, I felt we were playing against 12 men.

Even the home crowd was applauding the referee as he was that poor. We weren’t awarded an indirect free-kick following a backpass, when the goalkeeper slipped and fell onto the ball. The referee said it was accidental!

But it was a positive night as well, two of our strikers got their first goals of the season and it is always important to get off the mark as a forward.

We play Dulwich on Saturday, which is our biggest game so far.

It is a chance to make a statement and it will be a good, honest battle.

We had an excellent result there last year, only to lose at home four days later.

At the moment we are evens, but I intend to take the lead on Saturday.
