THE MATCH: Billericay Town’s biggest match of the season so far sees them bid to reach the first round of the FA Cup for the first time in 10 years.

Beaten at this stage last season, Billericay head to National League North Brackley Town with realistic ambitions of progressing.

The hosts may play a level above Glenn Tamplin’s team, but the quality of Billericay’s squad mean the tie is played on a level playing field.

Brackley are fifth in the second tier, have lost just twice so far this season and have enjoyed huge success in the competition in recent years.

Two second round appearances and a first round outing in the last four seasons, as well as a 4-3 extra-time win over League One Gillingham last term, make this a hard one to call.

THE INSIGHT: “I am as nervous as I am excited,” said Tamplin. “It is massive for everyone at the club.

“We need to win this to make the previous three rounds and five matches worthwhile. And I am confident we can do it.

“They are a good side with a good pedigree, we know that. To get to the first round after the draws we have had would be brilliant. It has not been an easy route at all.

“But we believe we can do it.”

THE TEAM NEWS: Jermaine Pennant is unavailable with a muscle injury, Elliot Kebbie will not feature. Otherwise Billericay have a fully-fit squad.
