JAMES White believes East Thurrock United go into their FA Cup fourth qualifying round replay against Ebbsfleet United with nothing to lose.

John Coventry’s side will make the short journey across the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge to Stonebridge Road tonight.

Neither side was able to force a breakthrough in the initial tie, as the clash ended goalless.

And White is hopeful that Rocks will book their passage into the first round of the competition, where they would welcome Doncaster Rovers to the FutureFuel Stadium.

White said: “I have a few mates in the Football League and it would have been nice to play against some of them if we get through.

“Charlton Athletic are a massive club and Ricky Holmes is there, who I know.

“Then there are also the likes of Portsmouth and Danny Cowley’s Lincoln City that come into the competition now so we want to get into the next round.

“Playing Doncaster is now the ideal scenario, but we need to make sure we get there first.”

Ebbsfleet went close to breaking the deadlock early on at the FutureFuel Stadium, but Ryan Sammons’ goal-line clearance denied the visitors.

White hit the crossbar in the second half, while Sam Higgins went close to claiming a late winner for Rocks, but was denied by goalkeeper Nathan Ashmore.

And White was delighted with how East Thurrock performed.

White, who joined Rocks from Concord Rangers in the summer, added: “We gave a good account of ourselves at the weekend.

“We found out what they are about and they are well organised.

“They attack well, but we had our chances to win it as well.

“Ebbsfleet might approach the game a little bit differently.

“We know it will be a difficult game and it will be hard to pick up a result on their pitch, in front of their fans.

“But we go there with nothing to lose.”
