THE MATCH: Canvey Island will want to continue piling the pressure on the top two when they welcome Soham Town Rangers tomorrow.

The Gulls were emphatic 3-0 winners against Heybridge Swifts on Tuesday night.

And they will fancy their chances against Soham, who have struggled in recent weeks.

Soham had lost the last four before Tuesday’s 2-2 draw with bottom club Cheshunt.

The Cambridgeshire club have conceded 15 goals in the last five matches, including a 4-0 drubbing at Bowers & Pitsea earlier this month.

However, Canvey had to come from two goals down to salvage a draw in the reverse fixture in September, with Ryan Charles and George Sykes scoring in the final 14 minutes.

THE INSIGHT: “All our work at the moment is making sure our attitude is right,” said boss Danny Heale. “We have slipped up against Norwich United and Mildenhall Town and that cannot happen again.

“We drew at Soham earlier in the year and we came back in that game in difficult circumstances.

“But this match is arguably our most important game of the season so far. We need to make the win over Heybridge really count.

“I spoke with (Cheshunt manager) Craig Edwards on Wednesday after they drew with Soham in the week and he gave us some information, so we will be prepared.

“We have a fully fit squad and everyone is chomping at the bit. We are in a good place right now.”

THE TEAM NEWS: Defender Jerrome Sobers could return.
