THE MATCH: Canvey Island face their toughest test remaining of the regulation season when they make the trip to Haringey Borough tomorrow.

The Gulls, who have lost their last four away matches and are without a win in six league games on the road, are in need of a pick-me-up following a 3-0 defeat at Aveley on Easter Monday.

And they face a team hitting form at the right time. Haringey have won five of their last seven games, romping to a 6-0 win against Mildenhall Town last Saturday and coming from 2-0 down to defeat Waltham Abbey on Wednesday.

A goal from George Sykes was enough for Canvey to win the reverse fixture, what they wouldn’t give for a repeat tomorrow afternoon.

THE INSIGHT: “Haringey have spent well in the last few weeks and it looks like they mean business,” said Gulls chief Danny Heale. “Whereas, we look dead on our feet at the minute.

“If we are to stay in this play-off pack we need to sort it out quickly.

“We struggled at the weekend after having to play three times and it caught up with us on Monday against Aveley.

“We have been in the play-offs all season and we don’t want to miss out now.

“Looking at the fixtures, we have a better run in than some other teams but we are so up and down I don’t know if that is good or bad.

“We play on a 3G pitch tomorrow but we know after that we have four or five cup finals. We need to click and we haven’t done that since the turn of the year.”

THE TEAM NEWS: Canvey have no injuries.
