THE MATCH: Canvey Island travel to Mildenhall Town knowing they must fix their away form otherwise risk missing out on a top six finish altogether.

The Gulls have lost three of their last four games, five away games on the spin and have not triumphed on the road since January.

And, with an away play-off semi-final a certainty should they secure the necessary points, Canvey must prove they have the mettle to win points away from the Frost Hire Stadium.

Mildenhall were beaten by Bowers & Pitsea last weekend and the 19th placed team have little to play for.

Mildenhall’s form - no wins in their last eight matches - will boost Canvey but they will not have forgotten the 2-1 defeat they suffered against tomorrow’s opponents earlier in the campaign.

THE INSIGHT: “We had a lucky escape with Maldon losing in the week and it is still in our hands,” said boss Danny Heale. “Individual errors are costing us and that is not good enough. We paid the price on Tuesday and it was a bad day.

“It’s a long trip and we need a win. We are disappointed from Tuesday and its down to them to sort it out.

“Our away form has been terrible but we just need to get in the play-offs. it’s a lottery and we need to just look at the next game.

“We have three games to play and have a four point gap with better goal difference so we should be able to do it.

“We need to concentrate on us as we are not in a good place at the moment.”

THE TEAM NEWS: George Allen (hamstring) is a doubt.
