CANVEY'S Concord bravely fought back from a 2-0 deficit before finally conceding all three points to their fellow play-off hopefuls.
James Elms gave the visitors a sixth-minute lead and grabbed a second on the 20-minute mark.
The Thames Road hosts hit back within a minute of that second goal to reduce the deficit from Danny Heale’s header.
And a superb Nicky Cowley volley from Dave Collins’s cross ensured Rangers were on terms by the break. But Concord’s fightback proved to be in vain when Lee Sontag’s lob ensured the points went to the visitors 11 minutes from time.
Abbey stand fourth in the table, but Concord’s play-off hopes would appear to be fading as they are eighth — four points behind a Northwood side filling the vital fifth place from a game more.
