Name change reflects two year deal at Gulls stadium

CANVEY Island Football Club have announced a major new two-year stadium sponsorship deal with Canvey Island based company The Brockwell Group.

From the start of the 2009/10 season the club’s home will be named The Brockwell Stadium and the deal is one of the largest secured by the club in recent years.

Chairman George Frost said. “This is excellent news for the football club.

“The two-year deal fits nicely with the long term stability and growth plans for the football club along with our commitment to being community focused.

“We know this partnership will be positively received by our supporters and it shows the direction in which we are steering the club”

He added “We are very happy to have negotiated a deal with a company of the Brockwell Group’s stature and we look forward to working with them over the next two years”

Brockwell Group spokesman Brian Dallas added: “Brockwell & Sons Limited is a local family owned company and have run the business for over 25 years, working nationwide.

“The managing director Tony Brockwell has always supported local teams and he is delighted to be linked to Canvey Island Football Club. Tony is looking forward to the new season and hopes the team and club officials get the support from the area.”
