TWO of the Ryman Premier’s most lethal marksmen will go head-to-head tonight at the Aspect Arena.
Concord’s Tony Stokes and East Thurrock’s Sam Higgins both have 24 league goals and are joint third in race for the division’s Golden Boot.
Stokes has 31 goals in all competitions, and Higgins 33, and it is sure to be a tough night for defenders.
Concord will be trying to avenge one of their worst results of the season against their derby rivals tonight at Thames Road.
The Beachboys were in the middle of an excellent run when they went to Rookery Hill and lost 4-1 in early January.
Management and players held their hands up at the time and said it was a performance which was simply not good enough. Defeats in their last two games have ended Concord’s late charge for the play-offs.
But they will still want to end a rollercoaster season on a high —starting with three points at the Aspect Arena tonight.
They will face a Rocks side who have had an inconsistent season themselves, while impressing in cup competitions.
Rocks come into the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat at champions elect Billericay on Saturday. At the same time Concord were losing 3-0 at Met Police. Rocks start the night 14th in the table, four points and two places behind their hosts. Kick-off is at 7.45pm.
