I HAVE to admit, I was disappointed with the way the transfer window ended for West Ham United.

Bringing in Joe Hart, Pablo Zabaleta, Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez was good business, but I think they needed to get one or two more.

I think William Carvalho would have been a good addition and he is someone we have missed out on.

It seems as though co-owner David Sullivan plays a big part in transfer dealings, but I think it should be left to Slaven Bilic.

I have always thought that every club should leave the transfers to the manager and their right hand man as, if a player comes in because the chairman wanted him and he fails, it still falls on the manager’s head.

I saw something Tony Gale said recently about West Ham only spending £4million over the last two seasons.

If that is true, Bilic has done a great job.

He is getting a lot of stick for the bad start the club has made to the season, but he is not being given a lot of money to play with.

The owners said the reason behind the move to the London Stadium was to take West Ham to the next level, but they need to show more ambition in the transfer market.

There is probably some League One clubs that have spent more than £4million in the last two seasons and Bilic is now under pressure.

But he has dealt with a lot of pressure before, particularly as the boss of the Croatia national team, where they expected him to get them to every tournament and past the group stage.

Robert Snodgrass has criticised him since leaving on loan, but he is just trying to blame someone else after failing to pull up trees at West Ham. I thought he looked unfit.

Asking him where he wants to play should have been seen as a positive. It shows he trusted him.
