WEST Ham United will finally compete in their first home match of the season tonight.

Slaven Bilic’s side go into the clash with Huddersfield Town having lost all three of their opening Premier League fixtures.

And that poor run of form makes the meeting with David Wagner’s high-flying newly-promoted side a must-win game.

Bilic’s position has come into question due to the poor start, while the club’s owners have been embarrassed by the Sporting president after the failed move for William Carvalho.

It has been a forgettable start to the season, but at least the Hammers could feel like they have turned a corner by collecting three points tonight.

Bilic still appears to be out of luck, as he goes into the game with a host of injury problems.

Manuel Lanzini - West Ham’s talisman - picked up an injury while on international duty with Argentina, while the likes of Edimilson Fernandes and Andre Ayew picked up knocks during the time with their national sides.

But one positive for the Hammers boss is the long-awaited return of Andy Carroll.

The injury-plagued striker picked up an injury that was not expected to keep him out for long towards the end of last season.

However, it turned out to be a long-term problem and the former England international is expected to make a welcome return against Huddersfield Town.

Javier Hernandez has been a bright spark for West Ham so far this term and Bilic should look at pairing the two frontmen.

The Mexican international has pace and is a goal poacher, while Carroll’s aerial ability would result in a deadly partnership that would breed goals and could see West Ham quickly climb the Premier League table.
