BASILDON professional Daniel Brooks is back in Portugal today hoping the country can bring him some more luck.
The 27-year-old won his maiden European Tour title at the Madeira Islands Open in May after a nerve-shredding play-off.
But Brooks has not had much joy on the top Tour since, failing to make the cut in all 14 events he has played since.
He tees off in the Portugal Masters at the Oceanico Victoria Club at 12.20pm today.
Brooks is currently 140th in the Race to Dubai rankings but his victory in Madeira ensured he retains his Tour card for next year.
Meanwhile, one step below in the Challenge Tour, Thorpe Hall professional Richard McEvoy, finished tied 33rd at the EMC Golf Challenge Open in Rome last weekend.
McEvoy put together rounds of 73 and 69 to make the cut before scoring 72 on the Saturday and a 77 on the Sunday to finsih some way off winner Ricardo Gouveia who finished on nine-under but needed a play-off to secure his maiden title.
He picked up 1,290 euros for his efforts. He is currently 82nd in the Challenge Tour rankings.
