THORPE Hall Golf Club professional Richard McEvoy begins his assault on Sweden’s Nordea Masters this morning.

McEvoy impressed in his last outing at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, where he finished tied seventh and won 23,160 euros.

And he will tee off at Stockholm’s Bro Hoff Slot Golf Club this morning aiming to put in a similar performance.

He will begin at 10.30am UK time alongside Daniel Gavins and Jose-Filipe Lima.

Basildon golfer Daniel Brooks and McEvoy’s fellow Thorpe Hall member Matthew Southgate are not taking part after their exertions at the PGA Championship last weekend.

Brooks pocketed 16, 125 euros for his efforts although he should have placed higher than his tied 55th, after a disappointing final day on the course (nine over par) saw him finish 14 shots off the winner Chris Wood.

Southgate failed to make the cut at the Wentworth Club.
