THREE monthly medals were contested at Belfairs during a busy week.

Stan Whitton’s 79 was enough to take first place from Tony Ball (81) and Neil Arends (83) on Friday.

Chris Shawyer (74) took Saturday’s event on countback from Trevor Innard and Graham Jones (77).

Barry Meddle (67) comfortably won from Peter Mahoney (75) and Andrew Nash (76) on Sunday.

Good conditions for Captains Day made for a close finish and it was Nigel Warder with 38 points who emerged the winner followed by runner-up Baz Patel (37) and third-placed Peter Mahoney (36).

Lawrence Schooley and Baz Patel recorded their fifth consecutive victory in the Daily Mail Foursomes by beating Chigwell 3&2 on Saturday.
