Thorpe Hall Ladies: The annual Welton Hi-Lo competition took place with the format for this 18-hole Stableford with a draw determining pairings with a high and a low handicapper playing together. The winners were Jane Bodiam and Sue Ward with 74 points and in second place with 68 points Beryl Barber and Daphne Cooper. Later in the week the monthly Stableford competition was played which this month was combined with a donation to the Macmillan Cancer charity and the competition for the Windfall Trophy. The silver division winner was 19-handicapper Wendy Elmore with 30 points closely followed by Joanne Ellis-Bailey playing off 20 with 29 points. Elmore qualifies for the next round of the Windfall Trophy. In bronze division, Sally Jackson (29) scored 38 points and her handicap now reduces to 28. Second place went to Helen Knatchbull (22) with 37 points. Her handicap also now reduces and she will play off 20.
The monthly EWGA/Thorpe Hall medal was combined with the annual Grandmothers' Cup. This was played in beautiful conditions. In silver division the winner was Barbara Ridgwell (9) with 72 net with second place going to Cara Faint (19) with 74.
Bronze division winner, Caroline Dunn (23) scored 69 net and her handicap reduces to 22 and Shirley Lecorgne (25) scored 72. Her handicap reduces to 23.
Lecorgne is the winner of the Grandmothers' Cup.
