EX-LADY captain Sue Proctor handed over the fruits of her charity labours last year at a special lunch in the Rochford clubhouse.
She and cadet Captain Georgia Gilling both chose the London children's hospital Great Ormond Street to support and managed to raise a bumper £3,168 to help boost their funds.
Also at the lunch were two members who helped to swell the coffers — Mike Fisher who collected £375 for playing a round of golf in shorts after Christmas in freezing conditions and Liam O'Herlihy, a local artist, who donated one of his paintings which raised £200 at an auction.
There to receive the cheque on behalf of the hospital was Martin Harris who said he was delighted to receive the much-needed money which would certainly be put to good use.
This year's lady captain Rosemarie Gemmell has also chosen a worthwhile charity to back — Havens Hospice.
