Ladies win thrilling match
BASILDON beat Crondon Park in the second round of the Bronze Shield.
The Ladies team of Olive Bell, Pam Gray, Vi Madle, Yvonne Clow Jen Frizzell, Denise Woolley and Judy Long managed to rise above the bitterly cold weather and unfamiliar course to take the match 4 and 3.
All five winners had extremely close games, with the match standing at three-all before Clow took the match with a superb par at the 20th.
The Kingswood Salver went to Sue Cable on 35 points - also qualifying her for the Windfall Trophy.
Vi Madle was in second spot on 34 and Shirley Clayton was third on 33.
