Heavy rain meant no play was possible at the scheduled 11am start time
The third Investec Test between England and West Indies suffered a washout for the second successive day at Edgbaston.
No toss or exchange of teams took place on Thursday, and those final arrangements never looked likely again as rain continued up to and beyond the scheduled start time at 11am.
With no improvement in the conditions in Birmingham, play was eventually abandoned shortly after lunch.
