BRITISH diving star Tom Daley has returned to Southend after his dream of an Olympic medal was put on hold.

The 18-year-old and his 10metre platform synchro partner Pete Waterfield finished fourth in the competition at the Aquatics Centre yesterday.

Daley will now spend the next six days at Southend Swimming and Diving Centre in preparation for his anticipated clash with China’s world champion Bo Qiu in the individual platform event on the penultimate day of the Games.
