South Benfleet & Canvey’s James Fuge, D Starkey and Tony Fuge bowed out of the County Triples competition after losing on the final end.
The trio were leading by three shots going into the last end but they dropped a four to lose by a shot to the Essex County BC triple of John Stewart, Kevin Watkins and Aaron Lyons.
There was another defeat by a single shot in South Benfleet’s Basildon League match against GP Murrayfield but South Benfleet enjoyed a 32-shot friendly win over Southchurch Park.
