OLLIE Pinnock is hoping to make his professional boxing debut in two months’ time after injury postponed his planned fight at the weekend.

The Leigh fighter had been due to join the paid ranks at Bethnal Green’s York Hall on Saturday night.

But the 33-year old former Southend ABC member was forced to pull out of his bout with Bulgarian fighter Vasil Vasilev after breaking bones in his left hand.

“I have been truly gutted by this as it meant I had to pull out of my big fight,” said Pinnock.

“I’ve had great support from all my friends who bought tickets and for everybody who has bought a ticket to Saturday’s fight, I will give them a free ticket to my next fight, which we anticipate to be in around eight weeks’ time.”

Pinnock, who has signed a three-year deal with Goodwin Promotions, is now nursing the fractured second and third metacarpal bones and is aiming to make his professional bow before Christmas.
