Shamiso stars at Chalk Bowl

SOUTH Essex gymnasts competed at the Chalk Bowl Challenge Competition.

In the first round, Shamiso Ndoro won the competition with 42.95 points and also came first in the vault and on the beam and second on the bars.

In round three, Madison Jennings came second overall in the giant category with a total score of 42.95 points.

She also picked up a gold medal on beam too.

Billie Masser came first on vault with a score of 10.70 points.

In the older category, both Isabel Setford and Olivia Cartwright also competed. In the fourth round (Mo Category) Vivan Jaiyesmi got the bronze medal on beam and silver on floor. Tyler Barnard won silver on vault and bronze on beam and floor.

ELIZABETH Packman made her mainstream competition debut at the Elite Open Cup in Canterbury and had a fantastic day.

Team-mates Jade Woollard and Rebecca Wright also competed at this high level competition.

Results: Rebecca Wright-Junior Competition- 3rd in Ribbon, 3rd in Ball, 6th in Hoop, 6th in Clubs and 6th Overall.

Jade Woollard-U12-4th in Rope, 5th in Ball, 7th in Clubs, 7th in Free and 4th Overall.

Elizabeth Packman-U12-6th in Clubs and 7th in Ball.

The second day of the competition was the duets and trios with South Essex Gym Club having plenty of success.

Louisa Duff, Alicia Barnes and Isla Sewell-Moore, came first in the Free Trio, one place ahead of team-mates Louise Imamzade, Josslyn Miller and Francesca Foster.

Josslyn Miller and Louise Imamzade, came first in the Hoop Duet, Alicia Barnes and Isla Sewell-Moore, came second in the ball duet while Kiera Martinson, Keira Miller and Rebecca Wright, came first in the Junior Trio.

Connie Miller and Jade Woollard, came 5th in the Ball Duet.

 

17 gymnasts impress at county event

SOUTH Essex Gym Club sent 17 girls to compete at the Essex county level six and five competition.

In the level five 13-plus age group, Isabelle Hamilton came second overall with a score of 43.80, she also got a bronze medal on vault. Lydia Power also competed and got a gold medal on bars 11.55 and also on vault 11.75. Emma Reid and also Lucy Orpwood also competed in this level.

In the 11/12 age group Katie Grange came 3rd overall with a total score of 42.75, while in the level five 9/10 age group, Vivan Jaiyesmi and Tyler Barnard both competed well.

In the level six competition, 12-plus age group, Shelby With won the overall competition with a total score of 41.85 she also finished with a bronze medal on bars too with a score of 10.70.

In the eight to nine age group, Sarah Coker came third overall with a total score of 44.55. Elise De Boos picked up a silver medal on beam with 11.95. Also competing were Charlotte Cassidy, Eve Emilia Page, Madison Jennings and Billie Masser.

Finally, in the 10/11 age group, Grace Barfoot, Eloise Booty, Isabel Setford all competed.

 

Elise takes silver at national champs

ELISE Adeyemo won a silver medal at the National Age group voluntary level four finals at Guildford.

Adeyemo won a silver in the all-round competition with a total score of 50.550.

She also came in fifth place with her combined score from the previous national compulsory level four added to this competition.
