ROCHFORD-born driver Will Stevens will start his maiden Formula One race from the back of the grid in Abu Dhabi.
The 23-year-old Caterham racer clocked 1:44.540 in the qualifying one to set the 20th quickest time.
Stevens, who lived in Hadleigh before moving to Surrey in his early teens, was a place behind Caterham team-mate Kamui Kobayashi, who clocked 1:44.540.
Mercedes' Nico Rosberg took pole position with 1:40.480 to pip team-mate and championship rival Lewis Hamilton (1:40.866).
McLaren's Jenson Button was eighth in a time of 1:41.964.
