Southend Pier: Whiting, dogfish and dabs, along with the occasional codling.
Southend beaches: There is the chance of a codling after dark at long range from West Beach. Flounders are being caught either side of Westcliff Leisure Centre.
Shoebury: Whiting and flounders have been had at the Garrison’s concrete shelter. Flounders and eels have been caught from the bus stop end of East Beach, with a few mullet still being caught at the boom end, plus one of two sizeable bass.
Thamesmead: Flounders, whiting and the odd smelt.
Erith: There is the chance of a few bass at Morrison’s Jetty, along with flounders and smelt.
Gravesend: Rick, from Dolphin Angling, reports lots of whiting, codling to 4lb and smelt, plus the occasional bass.
Greenhithe: Whiting, codling and bass are providing sport.
Fulham: Eddie Sharp reports lots of eels and undersize flounders.
Millwall: Eels are being landed and they are bigger than those at Fulham. Sizeable flounders have also been banked.
Barking Creek: Good bags of sizeable flounders have been caught on the tidal stretch by the sluice gate.
Dagenham: Flounders, mostly sizeable, and the occasional whiting have been had from the recycling plant.
Stanford-le-Hope: It is flounders only here.
River Crouch: Large bags of whiting are being caught on fish or squid bait, along with a few codling and the occasional roker.
River Roach: Flounders and eels are being caught and there is the chance of a whiting.
Burnham: Codling, whiting and dogfish are being caught at Holywell Point.
Walton Pier: Richard Holgate says it is whiting time on the pier at the moment and there are codling if you can get through the whiting.
Frinton Town Beach: It is rough ground but there are codling of 2lb to 4lb being taken at Polebarn Lane on old squid or black lug worm.
Holland on Sea: Codling and whiting are being taken at Kingscliff on night tides.
Clacton Pier: Codling, whiting and dogfish are being caught.
Boats: Codling, whiting, bass and dogfish are providing sport, with boats in the River Crouch are getting up to 30 bass a trip.
