FOBBING fighter Sam Stokes is gearing up for two professional bouts in quick succession.

The 24-year-old will take on James Child in a super middleweight clash in Camden at the start of February before also returning to the ring just two weeks later at the Harrow Leisure Centre.

Stokes’ second opponent has yet to be confirmed but the bout will be shown live on Eurosport.

And Stokes is keen to make the most of the opportunity.

“I guess it’s quite unusual to have two professional fights in the space of three weeks but with the second fight being shown on television I couldn’t turn it down,” said Stokes.

“It’s a big chance for me to show what I can do and the preparations have been going really well.

“I only allowed myself two days off for Christmas and was obviously careful about what I ate so I’m in good shape, thanks to my coach Frank Greaves and I’m looking forward to these fights I have coming up.”

Stokes has won both of his fights since turning professional back in July and is now keen to keep the good run going.

He combines training at the Peacock Gym in Canning Town with sessions at the Eurofitness Health Club Basildon.

And he is fired up to make the most of the opportunities coming his way.

“I am a romany gypsy and I fight for romany rights in Britain,” said Stokes.

“That’s certainly a real motivation for me and my big aim this year is to fight for the southern area title.”

Stokes was also keen to thank his sponsors Stubbins and Sons, Fisk Fire Group and ETN flooring for enabling him to focus on his fights.

Stokes is also keen to have a strong backing at both of his bouts and anyone wishing to purchase tickets can do so by contacting him directly on 07908 862769.
