BASILDON’S Stuart Bingham wept tears of joy after producing a stunning performance to beat five time winner Ronnie O’Sullivan at the World Snooker Championships tonight.

The 38-year-old won the quarter final clash 13-9 at the Crucible to set up a final four clash with Judd Trump.

And Bingham could not hide his delight after bagging one of the best victories of his career.

"It's unbelievable," said Bingham.

"I lost the first frame tonight but then didn't miss a ball, or that's how it felt.

"I'm so looking forward to tomorrow for the one-table set-up.

"I went back into the arena just now and had a little tear and phoned the missus up and I couldn't speak.

"She said she wished she was here to give me a little cuddle."

O'Sullivan crushed Bingham 13-4 two years ago in Sheffield, also at the quarter-final stage, so revenge was sweet.

But new title favourite Trump is looking strong, polishing off a 13-4 win over Ding Junhui in Wednesday's morning session.

And Bingham acknowledged that ahead of the start of their last-four clash on Thursday.

"He looks like he's flying out of his boots but I'm still in it and I've got a chance,” said Bingham.

"Hopefully I'll get some sleep tonight and come back and enjoy it.

"I've been an underdog all my life. I'll just do my own thing.

"Judd is a very confident person, a good lad. He's got to a final before and feels like he can beat anyone.

"We all do in this situation."
