NOAK Bridge’s Josh Vickers has signed a two-year deal with Premier League giants Swansea City.

The 19-year-old goalkeeper, who went to the Billericay School, agreed the deal today, subject to international clearance, after he was released by Arsenal over the summer.

Vickers, who excelled at National League South outfit Concord Rangers last season, has been with the Swans since the start of July and impressed in a number of pre-season matches, earning praise from manager Garry Monk.

The teenager is expected to be the club’s fourth choice goalkeeper, behind Lukasz Fabianski, Kristoffer Norfeldt and Gerhard Tremmel.

He said: “This club is going in the right direction. How the first team performed last year is breathing confidence though the whole team, it is a club on the up and it’s great to be a part of.”
