STUART Bingham’s fine run of form came to an end as he was beaten in the semi-finals of the Shanghai Masters by Judd Trump.
The defending champion, from Vange, lost 6-3 to Trump, having come from 4-2 down to knock out Martin Gould in the quarter-finals.
Bingham had led 2-1, before Trump reeled off five of the next six frames to progress.
Despite his exit, Bingham will have gained confidence from his form after a difficult start to the season that has seen him fail to progress beyond the first round in three of the first four tournaments.
But he was unable to repeat the comeback this morning, as Trump moved into the final at his expense.
