ANTHONY Hill will be more determined than most to triumph at the latest Ultimate Warrior Challenge fight night in Southend tomorrow night.

The Rochford based 26-year-old will be taking on Callum Rice at Garon Park.

And Hill will be heading back into the cage to help raise funds for the terminally ill Jessica Purser who suffers with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

“I heard of Jess as she's a local girl and I was touched by her situation, especially as she’s raising Darcy, a three-year-old little girl,” said Hill, who runs the Formidable Fitness gym in Southend.

“I wanted to do something that could help so I approached her friend about me doing the fight for charity.

“TSG’s Dan Burzotta, who puts on the shows, then offered to run charity buckets at the fight so I'm sure between us we will do a lot to help.

“But I haven’t fought for 10 years and I’ve taken the fight on eight week’s notice so I’m not sure what’s going to happen.

“However, I’ll be doing all I can to win it for Jess.”

Jess, who lives in Benfleet and is 30-years-old, was diagnosed with the illness in January 2014.

She now has radiotherapy every day in hospital in Oxford and is currently waiting a CT scan which will show how successful the treatment has been.

Her family and friends are still looking for other options and there is a high chance she may have to go to America to seek further treatment.

But Jess is refusing to give up hope.

“I still feel like me and I still have some fight left, so hearing things like 'palliative care' and 'a few months' doesn't feel right,” said Jess.

“I owe it to myself and to Darcy to see what else might be available.

“I appreciate any and all donations because they will either give me more or better time with my gorgeous little girl and that's worth fighting for.”

DAN SET FOR BIGGEST EVER UWC

THE show’s promoter Dan Burzotta cannot wait for UWC’s biggest ever fight night.

Nineteen bouts will be taking place.

And Burzotta believes it will be an evening to remember.

“We have more fights than ever before taking place and there are some really good ones in there,” said Burzotta.

“Tom Mabandla is making his professional debut against an undefeated fighter while another one of our guys Marvin Adamaj is taking on an undefeated guy from Norway.

“Stav Economou is also the main event and he’s taken on Italy’s number two heavyweight who is bringing over quite a few fans which should all add to the atmosphere.”

Doors open at 6.30pm with tickets available on the door, priced £30.
