SOUTH Essex Gymnastic Club’s Brinn Bevan and Max Whitlock helped Great Britain win a silver medal in the team final of the World Championships in Glasgow tonight.
Basildon based Whitlock helped Britain clinch their first ever world team medal with a stunning display on the floor.
And the 22-year-old was delighted to help the team get onto the rostrum.
“The whole team is so proud of what we’ve done,” said Whitlock.
“We knew we needed clean routines and we got them so we’re all over the moon.
“This is the best team we’ve ever had and this has proved it now. We’ve made history and it’s just unbelievable.”
Bevan, who was appearing at this first ever senior World Championships, also helped Britain clinch second place.
And the former Deanes School pupil was struggling to speak after the enthralling event.
“I enjoyed every moment of it but I’m struggling with my voice because I was cheering so hard,” said Bevan.
“I couldn’t be prouder of the team and I couldn’t be prouder to be in the team either.”
