A THUNDERSLEY school is celebrating after its under-16 netball side were named county champions.
King John School got the better of local rivals FitzWimarc en-route to the final, where they got the better of Brentwood school, St Martins.
After an impressive showing in the pool stages of the finals, King John were faced with the task of beating a formidable FitzWimarc side.
However they won the match by two clear goals to go on and face St Martins School in the final.
But a single goal was enough to ensure the win and ensure the school will now go on to represent Essex in the Regional round of the National schools competition.
The team members were: Sophie Baker, Katie Rawlings, Poppy Douglas, Gemma Purser, Elizabeth McGlynny, Gina Dickson, Amelia Douglas, Maddy Dyer, Victoria Tarr and Nicole Cooksley.
