SNOOKER: A late scheduling change meant Stuart Bingham’s Championship League title defence was put on hold yesterday.
The snooker World Champion was set to play Neil Robertson and Graeme Dott, but he was switched from group four to group seven the evening before he was due to begin the competition, which is held at Stock’s Crondon Park Golf & Country Club.
Bingham, inset, from Vange, is playing an exhibition match in Prague next month, and the scheduling would have clashed had he continued in group four.
He will now play on Monday, February 29 and Tuesday, March 1 and has been placed into the same group as Matthew Selt, who he beat en-route to the Championship League crown last year, and Liang Wenbo.
