MAX Whitlock set a stunning personal best of 92.7 to win the men's all-around title at the British Championships in Liverpool on Saturday night.
The Basildon based 23-year-old dominated the event in front of a sell-out crowd of almost 10,000 at the Echo Arena, comfortably besting domestic rival Louis Smith on the pommel horse.
Whitlock's almost flawless performance on his favoured piece of apparatus scored 16.25, eclipsing the score which had made him the first British man to win an individual world title in Glasgow last year.
Smith, who finished runner-up to Whitlock in Glasgow, later scored 15.8 to take silver again on the pommel, while Dan Purvis and Niall Wilson earned all-around silver and bronze respectively.
Whitlock ended the night with four gold medals, topping the standings on the floor and the high bar in addition to his pommel and all-around wins.
