BILLERICAY Town’s Under-13 girls’ side are celebrating reaching a national football final after being crowned 2016 ESF champions.

The team returned home from the ESF Festival of Football at Butlins Bognor Regis as U13 Champions, and will now head to England training base St George’s Park for the grand final where they will be competing against the best of the 1,200 teams to have reached the showpiece.

Billericay won six of their seven games, scoring 17 goals in the process, to be crowned champions.

The young girls team were presented with the ESF Champions trophy by former professionals Darren Anderton and Nwankwo Kanu, with the former praising Billericay for their success.

“ESF continues to produce a really high standard of football and all the children who attend look like they’ve had a great time at the festival,” said Anderton. “With so many teams involved, being crowned ESF Champions is no mean feat, so congratulations to Billericay Town Girls.”
